Selaco Chapter 2 arrives November 13 with a warning for existing saves
The free update for owners adds 19 maps. Players still in Chapter 1 can finish on the older version through Steam.
Selaco’s second chapter arrives on November 13 as a free update for owners. Altered Orbit Studios says existing saves will not work with the new version, although Weapon Kit unlocks will remain.
Players who have finished the original campaign can start directly at the Chapter 2 levels. If you are still playing Chapter 1, you can finish before the update or return to the previous version on Steam: right-click the game, open Properties, choose Betas and select CHAPTER1. After finishing on that version, you can return to the updated game and start the new chapter.
The Machines of War adds 19 campaign maps, which the developer estimates will provide roughly 6–8 hours of additional content. The story expands, and protagonist Dawn gains a voice. An ally will fight alongside her for part of the chapter; players can also tell the companion to stay put.
New equipment includes drones and small turrets. Enemies will patrol their territory under the rebuilt AI. The developer says players can also sneak around them and choose when to fight. Chapter 1 is getting a remaster pass too, with improved lighting and other changes to its levels.
