NIKKE publisher warns of PC launcher security breach
Level Infinite says altered launcher files may have exposed players to malicious software and recommends security checks.
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE publisher Level Infinite says a third party tampered with the game’s PC launcher files, potentially exposing computers and account information to security risks. Automaton and Kotaku report that the company confirmed the incident and issued guidance to players.
In the company statement reproduced in full by community site nikke.gg, Level Infinite says altered scripts were replaced and the distribution cache refreshed on November 4. It asks anyone who launched the Windows PC launcher after September 27 at 09:41 to check their PC and account security.
The company says it added a feature to the official launcher to scan for and remove malicious programs distributed in the incident. It recommends closing all browsers before starting the launcher and protecting accounts from an unaffected device or after checking the current PC. Players concerned about losses can contact Level Infinite customer support.
