Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is 90% off on Steam. At the time of writing, the US price has dropped from $39.99 to $3.99. Rise of the Tomb Raider, the previous game in the trilogy, is also 90% off, from $29.99 to $2.99.

Until when

Steam lists it as a “Midweek Deal” for both games, ending November 6. The store pages don’t show the exact hour, so we’ve set it to 18:00 UTC, when Steam sales of this kind usually end.

What you get

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the last game of the trilogy, Lara Croft races through the jungles of South America to stop a Maya apocalypse. The Definitive Edition includes the game with all the add-ons released for it.

In Rise of the Tomb Raider, the game before it, Lara heads to Siberia in search of an ancient secret. If you’re starting from the beginning, it’s the first of the two, and together they cost about $7.

Why now

We already covered the new teaser for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which launches on February 12. If you want to warm up for it, or you’ve never played Crystal Dynamics’ trilogy, this is two games for less than a movie ticket.

Two full adventures for the price of a coffee is the kind of sale where overthinking is the only way to lose.
