Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky is 60% off on Steam. The US price drops from $59.99 to $23.99, and the sale ends on Monday, November 9, at 18:00 UTC.

What’s changed since 2016

The game launched in August 2016, and its launch is remembered as one of the rockiest in the industry. Since then Hello Games has shipped major updates one after another, and the Steam page now lists more than 30 of them, from Foundation to COSMOS (7.0). Among other things they added base building, multiplayer, living ships and play across platforms.

Today it’s an exploration and survival game in a procedurally generated galaxy, playable solo or with friends. Cross-Play and Cross-Save are supported between PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.

What the reviews say

On Steam the game is rated “Very Positive”: 82% of its 187,187 reviews are positive, and 91% of the reviews from the last 30 days. The Metacritic score shown on the store page is 61.

I just want to remind you that this is a classic! What began as a game with a lot of problems, and you could even say a relatively small world, has become a whole universe with countless possibilities. I hope to see more games at this level.

The sale price is as of writing. The game runs on Windows and Mac and has full controller support.
