World of Warcraft: Forever has launched worldwide, Blizzard says. The online role-playing game revisits Azeroth in a new version that will run alongside modern and Classic WoW.

The journey from level 1 to 60 spans the original continents, with more than 1,000 new quests and new or reimagined areas. Riverglades is aimed largely at mid-level characters and has over 150 quests, while Zephras Isle is a starting area for levels 1 through 12.

The new playable Skyborne race begins on that island. At character creation, Horde-aligned Windshapers can become shamans, while Alliance-aligned High-Order Skyborne can become mages.

On first login, players choose Classic or Enhanced visual and interface presets. These are starting settings, and individual options can be changed later. Players then select Normal or Roleplay PvP, which combines player combat with roleplaying rules for names and behavior. Hardcore will arrive after launch. Three raids for level 60 players are scheduled to open on December 9.

The game also supports a controller, as covered in our earlier guide.
