Sony shipped 2.6 million PS5 consoles to distribution channels in July–September 2026, down from 4 million in the same quarter a year earlier. The company revised the prior-year figure from 3.9 million in its table.

In the same report, Sony estimates that Marvel’s Wolverine sold 2.4 million copies to consumers worldwide through November 4, 50 days after its September 15 US release. The game figure excludes add-on content and measures consumer sales, unlike the console shipment figure.

PS4 and PS5 software sales totaled 88.2 million units in the quarter, including 8.2 million copies of Sony-published games. Sony says 78% of full-game sales were digital. The software total includes bundled copies and PS VR games across regions.

Sony estimates 127 million unique accounts were active in the final month of the quarter. That counts accounts, not necessarily individual people or subscribers.
