Smalland 2: Lost Realms has been delayed to 2027. The survival game was scheduled to arrive on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series this year; its Switch 2 version was already planned for 2027. A new trailer accompanies the delay, showing off the game’s new systems.

The development team says in its Steam update that the extra time will be used to refine the game. It has not announced a more precise release date within 2027.

Swimming, climbing and crafting

The trailer shows a perk system for character progression, new resource gathering and crafting systems, and swimming, climbing and stealth. In an earlier developer diary, the team explained that swimming on the surface will let players cross local obstacles, but will use stamina and require them to contend with currents.

A big world for tiny characters

A prequel to Smalland: Survive the Wilds, the game takes place before the first game’s events. Players can explore alone or in co-op for up to ten players, gathering resources, building bases and taming creatures. Maximum Entertainment’s original announcement lists PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2 as planned platforms.

In short, well done to the development team! Any developer willing to admit they need more time to share their creation with us deserves praise!
