Silica left Early Access on November 3, more than three years after it entered. Version 1.0 is available on PC through Steam and adds a single-player campaign called Centauri. Existing owners receive the update and campaign at no extra cost.

The game combines overhead strategy with first-person fighting on the desert planet Baltarus. Players can command forces from above, building bases and issuing orders, or enter the battle as soldiers, drive vehicles or play as alien creatures.

The Centauri campaign follows the war for the planet. Between missions, a 3D map shows the movement of the front lines. Briefings and dialogue are voiced, and players can save anywhere, including during a mission. Automatic checkpoints provide a backup.

For players who want to face another commander, the update adds one-on-one matchmaking. Choose a faction and ban unwanted maps before the game finds an opponent. Steam Workshop support lets players share their own scenarios and play those made by others.
