No Man’s Sky’s Forsaken update brings mysterious traders, delivery contracts and a way to jump to nearby star systems without opening the Galaxy Map. Update 7.10 also brings the game to iOS with an interface designed for touch screens.

Collect mementos and build a corvette

According to Hello Games, strange biological mementos can be recovered from places including derelict freighters, dig sites and deep-space hulks. Spending too long harvesting attracts hostile creatures, but the new traders exchange these curios for corvette parts, including cockpits and biomechanical structures.

Some items can also unlock a Multi-Tool called the Larva Cannon, while one reward is a helmet containing a larva. For a more straightforward job, deep-space outposts offer package delivery contracts: you’ll need a corvette and a Gravitino Coil to take them on.

Choosing a star directly from space sounds like a small change that will make long journeys flow more smoothly.

Fewer maps and markers

Stars in nearby systems now appear as targets that can be selected from space for a direct warp. The update also adds a minimal HUD mode that reduces the compass, mission notifications and markers, plus a radial menu for switching Multi-Tool modes.

Players can upload bases built in space to the shared server for others to visit. The update notes also list fixes and performance improvements, including multiplayer fixes involving corvettes.
