Siblings Toto and Gal are trying to get home, but their imaginations take them through forests, goblins and strange creatures along the way. That is the premise of Lost in Play, a puzzle adventure by Happy Juice Games, an independent studio based in Tel Aviv. Released in August 2022, it is an existing game we are revisiting as an introduction to the studio’s work.

An adventure told through animation

The Steam description outlines puzzles and mini-games that include helping frogs pull a sword from a stone, collecting parts for a flying machine and getting involved in a goblin village. Its cartoon presentation also carries the story: there is no dialogue, with the game communicating visually instead.

The studio’s website lists Yuval Markovich in game design and development, with Oren Rubin and Alon Simon handling art and animation. Before Lost in Play, the team collaborated with 11Sheep on The Office Quest. That background leads into a game built around expressions, movement and puzzles rather than lengthy conversations to read.

A free demo is a good way to see whether this puzzle style suits you.

Try the demo first

Steam lists Hebrew interface support, rather than Hebrew voice acting. Its edition supports Windows and Mac, and the store page offers a free demo for anyone who wants to try the puzzle and animation style before buying.

The full game is sold separately on Steam.
