ArenaNet has announced Guild Wars Afterlife, new downloadable content for the original game, for January 13, 2027. It requires Guild Wars Reforged and is planned for PC, including Steam, and mobile devices.

Players can bring existing characters to the island of Xotecha and enter the Unformed, a dungeon with a changing combination of maps, encounters and bosses. As a run progresses, they will choose skills that can come from outside their characters’ two professions.

Completing runs unlocks rewards for later attempts as well as permanent rewards usable outside Xotecha. ArenaNet says this is the original game’s first new DLC in almost 20 years.
