Santa Monica Studio has delayed God of War Laufey from February 16 to May 20, 2027. In a statement reproduced by Gematsu and VGC, the studio said it would use the extra time for finishing touches.

The PS5 game follows Faye, Kratos’s wife. In the studio’s reveal, she awakens after her funeral in the gods’ afterlife, the Everywhen, and discovers that her plans to protect Kratos and Atreus are at risk.

The studio describes combat that builds on the modern games while incorporating elements from the series’ Greek era. Faye will be able to move between ground and aerial combat, and two companions will join her shortly after she awakens in the new world.
