Shares in PlayStation maker Sony closed 7% higher in Tokyo on November 5, before the company released its earnings, Reuters reported. Nintendo and Capcom also rose in the session, while Konami reached an all-time high, according to gamebiz.

All four trade in Tokyo: Sony under 6758, Nintendo under 7974, Konami under 9766 and Capcom under 9697. After the market closed, Sony reported a 45% rise in quarterly operating profit for the whole group and raised its full-year profit forecast.

In separate results, Nintendo reported a decline in quarterly operating profit but kept its annual Switch 2 sales forecast at 16.5 million units. Gamebiz reported that Konami reached its record amid reports that two brokerages had raised their price targets.

In the U.S., Qualcomm trades on Nasdaq under QCOM. The company also makes Snapdragon G chips for handheld gaming devices. In a report published earlier on November 5 at 12:01, Reuters said its shares had fallen about 9% in premarket trading after smartphone chip sales missed analysts’ estimates. Quarterly handset revenue fell 26% to $5.14 billion. The share movement is an earlier premarket figure and does not describe the subsequent regular session.
