Dan Greenawalt, a co-creator of Forza and the head of Turn 10 Studios, is retiring from Microsoft after nearly 27 years, The Verge reports. Reporter Tom Warren cites an internal memo; Microsoft has not announced the departure publicly.

Playground Games studio head Trevor Williams says in the memo that Greenawalt will advise him and incoming chief operating officer Michel Bastien during the transition. Greenawalt helped create Forza and founded Turn 10, the studio behind Forza Motorsport.

The report follows Microsoft’s merger of Turn 10 and Forza Horizon developer Playground Games under the Playground Games name.
