Rumor: Ubisoft has bid for Arkane Lyon
Bloomberg reports that at least two other game companies have also made offers for the studio. No deal has been announced.
Ubisoft is among the companies bidding to buy Arkane Lyon from Xbox, according to a Bloomberg report by Jason Schreier, as covered by PC Gamer. The report cites people familiar with the negotiations and says at least two other, unnamed game companies have also made offers. No deal has been announced.
The report follows Microsoft’s extension until December 13 of the consultation period with the studio’s Works Council as it explores options. A sale to studio management was also considered, although the report says it is unclear whether that option remains available.
The studio previously made DEATHLOOP and is working on Marvel’s Blade. VGC, also citing Bloomberg, reports that the future of the game and its rights remains unclear.
