Strategy game Last Gambit is free on Steam for now, but will become a paid game when it leaves Early Access on November 13. Developer Mads says anyone who has it in their Steam library before that date will keep it free forever.

To add it, sign in to your Steam account, open the store page and select Play Game. The Early Access game is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.

Last Gambit is a chess-inspired roguelite in which you build an army from 27 piece types. Its Story mode takes you through a branching map of battles, with perks that can change the rules by freezing a piece or rewinding a move. You can also play against others online.

According to the developer’s announcement, version 1.0 will cost €4.99 or the regional equivalent.
